Small charming wood paneled apartment for two people, overlooking the Giudecca Canal. Views of the Redentore Church over the sparkling water!
The apartment combines the comfort of a family home with the warmth of a romantic getaway. In addition, there is a distinctly nautical air to the apartment, since both the space itself and its decor contribute to a feeling of cruising along the canals of Venice in an old clipper. read more
From the bed, you can watch the ships passing by and the apartment is illuminated by shining light reflected from the water below. The apartment is ideal for a couple, with the option of hosting a third person on a sofa bed.
The private entrance leads to a spacious living room with a kitchen hidden in the corner, and the bathroom discreetly tucked in the back. The apartment is equipped with a safe, a refrigerator and a hair dryer. Although in the high water rainy season (winter and late autumn), there are sometimes some minor problems due to the high tides, in the summer season there are no such issues.
Interaction with Guests:
My family is from Venice and I am quite familiar with our city, so we are more than happy to answer any questions to help to make the most of your time in Venice. If we are not in town ourselves, we can be in touch by phone or email.
The area is called Dorsoduro and the street itself is called Zattere, the longest in Venice and located along the Giudecca Canal, the city's widest canal. Set away from the noisy crowds of San Marco, the location is central enough that you can easily reach San Marco in about 15 minutes. Dorsoduro is a residential area, but full of museums and is loved by the Venetians for its plentiful sunshine and the many bars and restaurants only 5 minutes away from the apartment. Its location makes it ideal for sunbathing, reading, people watching or dining on one of its terraces overlooking the water. You can also reach the main museums and churches of the area in five minutes. The most important of these nearby museums are:
1. Galleria dell’Accademia, with its sumptuous collection of Venetian art;
2. Peggy Guggenheim Collection, with its modern art masterpieces;
3. Museum Pinault, recently built inside the old Venetian customs called Punta della Dogana;
4. Church Madonna della Salute, at the end of the Grand Canal beloved by everyone,
5. Ca’ Rezzonico, a former private house belonging to an important family and nowadays museum of the Venetian 17th century,
6. Picturesque Squero di San Trovaso where the gondolas are still repaired.
In another five minutes, you can reach to the church of Frari with its world famous Murals by Titian, or to the most famous Campi (squares) of Venice: Campo Santa Margherita and Campo Santo Stefano are the best places to meet people and to have a cappuccino or the famous drink Spritz before dinner.
How to get here:
From the airport by bus to Piazzale Roma, then ferry line 5.1 (stop Spirito Santo) or 2 (stop Zattere) or line 1 (stop Accademia).
From the railway station (Santa Lucia) by ferry, same lines as above.
From Tronchetto car parking, ferry line 2 (stop Zattere).
Full refund if the cancellation is made 5 days (120 hours) prior to agreed check-in date

Great stay in a great apartment. Communication was really easy with Cristina and she happily answered my questions. The apartment was exactly as described and it was in a good position. Walking distance to everything but not in the main touristy bit which we really appreciated. Found some great local bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
Cristina, thanks for that wonderful stay! It was a unique experience, like being in a boat, only much bigger, with a wonderful view over the water and seeing on the other side the wonderful Chiesa del Redentore. The apartment had a lot of details which we loved! When we come back to Venezia, we definitively will stay here again. Strongly recommendable!
We stayed 3 nights in Cristina's apartment during Venice's Carnival. Within minutes of arriving, Vera welcomed us. The place is comfortable, well kept and stocked with breakfast essentials and drinks. The nautical feel of the apartment made our first stay in Venice even more enjoyable :) Cristina was very helpful with every question we had. The place is great for a couple.
This truly lovely flat is my new secret in Venice! It's just lively to sit at the sea, have breakfast or to come home and have such a wonderful way home. Whenever I come back to Venice I will try to get this accommodation. Inside you find everything you need for a stay and it is very clean!
