Holidays ad Hoc, Mongol Rally 2015

Mongol Rally 2015

We have recently been aware of a fantastic race, called Mongol Rally, taking place every year between Europe and Siberia. A real adventure for true travelers!

Holidays ad Hoc is sponsoring the SPQRally Team, the Roman team participating to the 2015 edition, leaving next month towards Ulan Ude (Siberia).

Follow their adventures on our Traveler’s Blog. They will post their stories and share some cool videos and photos.

But what is Mongol Rally?

The Mongol Rally is a charity race, thundering 10,000 miles across the mountains, deserts and steppe of Europe and Asia each summer. There’s no backup, no support and no set route; just the travelers, their fellow adventurists and a “tiny” car.

If nothing goes wrong, everything has gone wrong. This is the motto!

The Mongol Rally is about getting lost, using long neglected wits, raising shedloads of cash for charity and scraping into the finish line with a vehicle in tatters and a wild grin smeared across grubby faces.

Nothing will ever be the same after a Mongol Rally.

The rules?

Simple. Travelers…

1. can only drive a farcically small vehicle;

2. are completely on their own;

3. have to raise a minimum of 1.000 pounds for charity.
